Martin Phillips,

Experience

Martin received his four year degree from the University of Kansas, and is a registered architect in the
State of Missouri. He has 26 years experience working as an estimator, office manager and project manager for A. Zahner Company, an architectural sheet metal company. His qualifications include high profile projects such as:

The Dodge Building on the campus of the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, MO which included flat seam zinc and copper wall panels.

The Midland Theater Entrance Door and Kiosk Restoration located in downtown , Kansas City, MO which included the layout, fabrication and installation of the non-existing kiosk replicated from old photographs;

The Union Station Restoration located in the Crossroads District of Kansas City, MO which included replicating the lobby café panels and embellishments, producing wall grilles to replicate the original grilles that were damaged or lost;

The Topeka Capitol Dome located in Topeka, KS which included removing the patina built up over the years on the copper roof, repairing any holes or damaged areas and applying a new “verdigris” patina to the copper dome roof, cornice and window trim and the installation of brass handrail at the look-out deck above the roof;

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception located in downtown Kansas City, MO which included layout, reproduction and installation of architectural embellishments to match the original features on the exterior column capitols, cornice and tower areas.

Jack has 27 years experience in of all facets of roofing, sheet metal, retrofit, and restoration projects including but not limited to design-build, managing, foreman, superintendant, and ownership.

Terry Lemon,
Field Superintendent

Experience

Terry has a combined 23 yrs of experience in carpentry and sheet metal fabrication and installation. He spent 10 yrs working for Armco Steel which included the safe operation of a 250-ton crane and hazmat training while his sheet metal experience was obtained during 15 yrs spent as Field Superintendant for J&L Sheet Metal.

Terry also carries an OSHA 10yr card and is CPR and First Aid trained.

David Hubert
Shop Foreman

Experience

David has been a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #2 since1986 and completed his apprenticeship with J&L Sheet Metal in 1992. Thereafter, David served as the shop foreman at J&L for 15yrs during which time he was responsible for design, layout, and fabrication of all material including but not limited to composite panel systems, flat seam panels, gutters, standing seam roof panels, and roof accessories.

David holds his OSHA 10hr card, is First Aid and CPR trained, and has his welding D1.1 certification.

Jason Ferguson
Assistant Shop Foreman

Experience

Jason has over 10 years experience in architectural sheet metal fabrication and installation.  During his apprenticeship period, Jason was nationally recognized by the Sheet Metal Workers International Association and awarded first place apprentice on 2 occasions.  Over the last 8+ years of sheet metal fabrication work in the shop, Jason has excelled at specialty and custom fabrication including stainless steel counter tops, elevator entryways, and cabin interiors.

Jason holds his OSHA 30hr card and is First Aid and CPR trained.
